But soon Matt discovers Leo's feelings and they begin a relationship that quickly grows too intense for both of them. To make it work, they'll both have to risk heartbreak and learn to trust.
Love Next Door edition by Amelia Bishop Romance eBooks
I just finished this book yesterday and miss it already.I liked both characters and the ways in which they resolved their issues. I completely understood Matt and his hesitation/ambivalence about getting into committed relationships.
Apart from a few early incidents of quite obsessive stalking, which I found mildly disturbing, Leo managed thereafter to conduct himself with dignity. In the beginning I was afraid he would be a weepy, clingy character, but he wasn't at all.
I thought the author handled the story development very well. I was disappointed to say goodbye to the characters after only 66 pages, but it was actually the perfect length for this well-balanced story, and anything else would have been just padding.
There were practically no spelling or grammatical issues. The book has been properly edited. This is important to me.
I thought the sex scenes were perfect. They were steamy without being overly descriptive, and the author conveyed the emotional connection between Leo and Matt in these scenes.
I would definitely buy a sequel.

Love Next Door edition by Amelia Bishop Romance eBooks Reviews
Read this in one sitting. The sex scenes were more descriptive than I care for. Wonder if Amelia would consider writing a sequel to this story? If so, I would buy it to see what happens next with Leo & Matt.
Two people in love. Both afraid to commit. Their desires tear them apart, until finally they admit their love for each other. This story is written well and has believable characters.
This is like the hottie next door that time passes before you realize the reality of the situation. This was another short story that was well-written.....just too short.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! So much so, that I just ordered "Take Me Back" by the same author. I liked her strong plot and textured characters. She has very a readable writing style. Give this book a try - I think you'll be delighted you did!
Small but well worth reading, I bought the paper cover so you know what I am talking about. it is hard to find this subject so I would buy it for that reason and because you will enjoy it.
The book is relatively short, but not really rushed.
Overall I was able to enjoy the book and follow the story pretty well and think most can.
It really his with how a lot of people are either too afraid to commit or rush to commitment before realizing what they have.
I really don't see how this can have a sequel even with the more abrupt end to it, the characters Leo and Matt do end up it a better place then where they started but really don't have more of a story to tell.
The love scenes had detail but weren't over the top, more in good taste than not.
Overall 4 stars, it kept my attention and i wanted to see how they ended up, i wouldn't go out of my way for this book but if you have the time i would give it a read.
I admit I really do not get most of the other reviews
- there is absolutely no need and hardly any room for a sequel. This short novella is perfectly self contained and there is nothing more to be said about the leads;
- I really do not think this romance can be seen as a light weight or superficial. The leads talk A LOT about their issues and there is nothing hurried in their HEA;
- the sex scenes are explicit but never gratuitous nor vulgar.
What can be said is that perhaps the author is too eager to prove her point the development of the relationship reads didactic at times and Leo, the POV bearer, looks a bit too stiff to be entirely likeable. A pity indeed as the novella's themes -fear of commitment and inability to have balanced relationships- are meaningful and relatable.
